For many, times are rough with strains that turn to haunt everyday life. Whether it's struggling with a new year's resolution, political stress, or seasonal depression. Little did we know, a bigger battle has been playing out before our eyes.

SCC Professor Becomes Fairfield Poet Laureate

At the February 4, 2025 Fairfield City Council meeting, Wyly presented his first poem as Poet Laureate in honor of Black History Month to both the public and the council. The poem titled “Oh, Who Will Come And Go With Me”, was inspired by one of Solano County’s earliest black settlers, Adam Willis.
Blank Budling: The Vallejo Campus Building sits doormant. Currently, theirs only 48 classes being offered on campus, despite it being located in the biggest city in Solano County.

On Monday, February 3rd, to Thursday, February 6th, Solano Community College hosted a Film Screening Week from 10 am to 2 pm in the back half of the cafeteria. Students enjoyed popcorn, drinks, and snacks as they watched films commenting on the importance of Black History.
