On March 28, 2026, the first day of Solano’s spring break, another round of No Kings protests took the country by storm. The No Kings movement started last year, protesting government overreach that many are calling a move towards fascism. The first protest drew millions on June 14, 2025, Trump’s birthday. Because of such widespread attendance, another nationwide No Kings protest was organized on October 18, 2025, also amassing millions of citizens. March 28 was the third No Kings protest, and the Bay Area hosted dozens of them across major cities. The Solano Pulse’s Photographer Mikaela Mack went to three No Kings protests, one in Berkeley and two in El Cerrito. There, she documented the protest and thousands of Bay Area residents expressing their first amendment right.

Hey! I’m Stella. I’m from Vallejo, and have lived there my whole life. This is my first time doing journalism for real, but I did yearbook in high school, and was voted MVP my senior year. I’m in my last semester here at Solano, and I’m so grateful to be apart of the team restarting the journalism program. Journalism is a pillar in the world that needs to continue on; and I’m so honored to write with these other amazing reporters.
I love to read, dance, write, make art, and listen to music. In my free time I’m probably organizing something or journaling.
