Hello Readers!

My name is Abril Tellez. I’m 20 years old and from Fairfield, California. My pronouns are They/Them. I attend Solano Community College as a First Generation Student.

It is my second year writing for The Solano Pulse as a Spanish Copy Editor and Staff Writer. I have been waiting for Journalism to come back to Solano since Fall 2023.  I feel honored to be part of the process of building a news website from scratch. I also adore all the amazing editors and writers that I work with and I am proud to know that the Journalism program has grown so much since 2024. Prior to college, I have written for The Armijo Signal from 2019-2023.

My interest in writing grew when my 8th grade English teacher encouraged me to keep going. My old Journalism teacher from Armijo High School also encouraged me to pursue my career as a Journalist. Mrs. Young and Ms. Herring, thank you for helping me find my spark.

In my free time I love to hang out with my friends, family and boyfriend. I am big on listening to Laufey, Mitski and Wallows.
