In recent years, Vallejo sideshows have been an increasing issue, with cars, going in circles and raging crowds that are being surrounded by danger that is turning into deadly crime. Sideshows result in arrests, fines for illegal car shows, and people being killed.
A Vallejo resident who witnessed the show, said “ The gentleman that was trying to cross the show as it was taking place hit a vehicle.
On August 24, Vallejo experienced deadly sideshows while people stood in a “ring of fire.” A Police officer even found a “10-foot python” in a car after that insane sideshow. 500 vehicles were towed. That is just 2x times double from June 9, 2024.
Vallejo has experienced sideshows for years now and the John Doe, a Vallejo resident, stated “It is incredibly frustrating over the loud noise”.
The community can’t get a peaceful night because all they hear is cars racing through their neighborhoods. Just by each month the max of cars that are participating in sideshows are doubling. Take a look inside of Vallejo to speculate how Police are not taking it as a serious situation or there are just not enough resources for the issue.
More people are getting fed up just by the destruction of the City’s property. Vallejo has a lot of recent experience from June 9, 2024. Most Vallejo sideshows happen at the Intersections of Redwood St, Sonoma Blvd, and Lemon Street.
There have been “200 vehicles participating in the sideshow and blocking traffic”- stating from a Vallejo Officer. Keep in mind if your vehicle is part of a sideshow, charges can go up on your car up to $2,589 just for recent tow fees if the car was stolen or towed. Seeing sideshows happening in the Vallejo community is why people are committing these crimes. This lifestyle is dangerous because people die on the street every day. Yet they rather do it for entertainment, not noticing it can be alarming to the community.
A Solano Art Professor Jeanne Lorenz, has heard sideshows happening in her Vallejo community. And has seen the damage they can do.
“I believe the folks perpetrating sideshows on our Community, need to find a more constructive and legal outlet for their energy,” she said.
The amount of Police isn’t even able to arrive when it starts and that is the main reason why people are getting away with not enough law enforcement to do the job.
I even witnessed a sideshow in Vallejo with my best friend and we had to go around that madness. People living in this recent sideshow are just “terrified” and feel like they are near lock down. Sideshows are a deadly way for people. With people standing around cars going in circles and non-stop arrests being put out.
A lot of people walk the streets in Vallejo or ride bikes so this happening constantly can lead to more deaths increasing. As a Community people are seeing not enough police being seen at recent incidents related to sideshows. I feel like the City is fed up with the issue, they feel like their issue isn’t being heard, just a lot of calls being made to the Police that are being ignored.
At the end of the day, it is a battle between who drives the fastest and who has the biggest crowds which is leading to disturbance and damage towards Vallejo property. This needs to end because it’s costing Vallejo A ton of money and it is turning into an epic situation.
